# Zen: Habits & Accountability changelog

Release history for Zen: Habits & Accountability. The App Store listing is at https://apps.apple.com/app/id6760182618.

## 1.6.0

Zen, rebuilt as a native app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

- The circular "Today" watch complication is replaced by the circular "Zen" one. A watch face that had it needs the "Zen" complication added again.

## 1.5.1

A new day that opens already up to date, a second device that restores itself from iCloud, and an iPad calendar that lists your habits.

- Opening Zen on a new day lands on today, with yesterday already resolved, instead of catching up a few seconds later.
- Installing Zen on a second device offers to restore your habits from iCloud instead of starting the introduction over.
- On iPad, the calendar lists each day's habits with how each one went, and tapping one opens it on that day.
- The dot under each day follows how most of that day went: green for done, red for missed, gray for skipped or unanswered. Yellow is only for today, while it is still in progress.
- Answering a habit on your watch, done, skipped or I slipped, stays marked the first time instead of needing a second tap.
- The calendar takes the whole screen, without the tab bar or the iPad sidebar.
- On wider screens the Progress grid adds columns and the streak shows more days, instead of stretching what is there.
- Home no longer leaves a large empty space under the last habit, habit names on the Progress grid no longer shrink to an unreadable size, and the Habit order screen no longer starts with a gap at the top.

## 1.5.0

Quitting a habit, time away that does not count against you, habit actions in one menu, and a Progress page you arrange yourself.

- Name something you are quitting. There is no target to hit: the day is yours unless you say you slipped, and every urge you let pass is one tap to record, counting up all day.
- Set yourself to Vacation, Sick or Break. Reminders stop, and the days you are away are skipped rather than missed, so a streak waits for you instead of ending. Each day says which it was in the habit's own log.
- Choose which chart each habit shows on its own progress page, and whether the Progress page lays them out as a grid or a list. The single setting that chose one chart for every habit is gone.
- Adding a habit, arranging them, and showing the ones today does not schedule now sit in one menu on Home. Challenges works the same way, with the finished ones behind a single toggle.
- A round started on your watch, or left running in a pocket, keeps counting when you close the sheet or change tabs, and one habit's timer can no longer take down another's Lock Screen card.
- Browse the habit library by category instead of picking from a menu of filters.
- A day that fell short keeps the work behind it, and your watch can mark a day missed or skipped, not only done.
- A past day no longer offers a timer, which cannot honestly count time that has gone. Its counter, rounds, status and notes still fill it in.
- Past challenges are shown by default, so a challenge that has ended stays visible instead of disappearing the day it finishes.

## 1.4.1

Quick actions on Home, named rounds and steps, a watch face complication, and Siri.

- Hold a habit on Home for its quick actions: mark the day, edit it, add a note, or start a Challenge. Reordering habits moved to Settings.
- Name each round of a series, and add steps: rounds with nothing to measure, which you simply check off.
- See today's tally on your watch face, and ask Siri to mark a habit done.
- The running timer now has a layout made for the Apple Watch Smart Stack.
- Widget marks read clearly in dark mode, and the streak ticks stay visible in tinted and clear looks.

## 1.4.0

Rounds on iPhone and Apple Watch, redesigned widgets, JSONL export, clearer Challenges, and app-wide polish.

- Build series from timed or counted rounds, put them in order, and complete or undo each round on iPhone or Apple Watch.
- Export everything you have recorded as a JSONL file, once, or keep a copy updating in iCloud Drive.
- Widgets now match the app, follow Text Size and habit order, show statuses consistently, and open goal habits instead of completing them.
- Challenges now show every participant across scrolling days, clearer cards and streak targets, and preserve the final streak after ending.
- Reminders describe today's work; 15 timed and counted templates and refreshed icons expand the library; Dynamic Type applies throughout.
- Habit details name the selected day and collapse long rounds and logs; the calendar returns to its last view with one tap back to today.
- Fixed status changes erasing goal work, a stuck keyboard in Choose a Habit, and chart flashes after swiping.

## 1.3.2

Challenge streak charts, drag to reorder, Lock Screen timers, and notifications that know who did what.

- Get a notification when someone in a Challenge completes their day, even when the app is closed.
- Onboarding now explains what notifications are for before asking permission.
- Joining a Challenge creates a habit that matches the original: same goal, same schedule.
- Start a Challenge straight from a habit, without picking the habit again.
- Challenge hosts can rename a Challenge or change when it ends.
- A running habit timer now continues on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and keeps counting when you leave the screen.
- Use the timer and counter on past days, so a day you forgot to log can still be filled in.
- Set a start date while creating a habit.
- Creating a habit moves step by step, and you can swipe back to change an answer.
- Adjust goals, Challenge targets, and Challenge duration with plus and minus, and hold either to move in bigger jumps.
- Tap a marked day again to clear it.
- Every habit action now lives in one menu on the habit screen.
- Swipe a progress card to look back through earlier weeks and months.
- The streak strip ends on today instead of starting on Monday, so a fresh week is no longer empty.
- Progress charts show every day, with a diagonal line marking the ones you skipped.
- Expanding rows like the date picker now open and close with the same motion.
- The inline calendar matches the app's colors instead of system blue.
- Empty screens are plain text instead of placeholder cards that looked like loading.
- Reorder your habits by holding a card and dragging it where you want.
- Hold a habit card for quick actions without opening the habit.
- Today's card shows how far along a running timer or counter is.
- Control a running timer from the app icon.
- The Lock Screen timer is built around a progress ring, and a session can be restarted from the habit screen.
- A Challenge now charts every participant's streak across the whole challenge, so you can see the runs, the breaks, and how much time is left.
- Each participant keeps one color across the Challenge chart and the standings.
- Open a Challenge's habit from the Challenge, and the Challenge from the habit.
- Challenge activity shows timer and counter progress, with a burst of taps kept to a single line.
- Challenge notifications name who completed, and no longer say it is your turn when you already finished your day.
- Reorder your Challenges the same way as habits.
- Fixed: joining a Challenge now keeps the original habit's goal.
- Fixed: editing a Challenge opens with its current settings.
- Fixed: a habit that fails to be created when joining a Challenge now says so instead of failing quietly.

## 1.3.1

Reliable Challenge invites, native menus, and iPad fixes.

- Leave a Challenge and rejoin later from a valid invite. Your personal habit stays put either way.
- Challenge invites and sharing now work reliably on iOS 26.
- Menus across the app are now native controls, with clearer icons and status colors.
- Expanded progress views now fit properly on iPad.

## 1.3.0

Apple Watch, opt-in Challenges, meaningful habit strength, and deeper progress.

- Apple Watch app: view today's scheduled habits and complete them from your wrist.
- Challenges: share an iCloud invite, connect your own habit, and follow participant progress and activity without a Zen account.
- Habit strength is now a 0-100 estimate based on completion history, with gradual gains, gentle decay, neutral skips, and milestone notifications.
- Open focused strength, streak, and history views, including a strength trend and full-year calendars.
- Add notes to individual days and tap activity entries to return to the date they describe.
- Reminders now stay aligned with habit titles, schedules, end dates, global pauses, archives, and iCloud changes.
- Zen now adapts to iPad, with refined habit editing, clearer template browsing, flatter controls, and direct feedback from Settings.

## 1.2.0

Home-screen widgets, skip days without breaking your streak, optional iCloud sync, and a deeper dark theme.

- Home-screen widgets: a selected habit's history grid, a checklist to tick off today's habits right from the Home Screen, weekly progress bars, and current streaks with a flame.
- Mark a day as skipped, a neutral status that neither counts nor breaks your streak.
- Turn on iCloud sync to keep the same habits across your Apple devices, or leave it off to keep each device separate. Off by default, no account required.
- A deeper dark theme, plus refined design and smoother interactions throughout.

## 1.1.0

Count goals, end dates, dozens more habits, and a smoother, glassier feel.

- Set count goals up to 1000 and track them with a simple counter (great for drinking water).
- Give a habit an end date so its schedule stops on the day you choose.
- Dozens more habits to start from, including Padel, popular sports, and Apple Fitness workouts.
- The segmented control and tab bar now glide a thumb between options, and you can press and drag to pick.
- Refreshed tab bar with a translucent glass pill that stays crisp in light and dark.
- Tap a quick button in the header to jump back to today whenever you're viewing another day.
- A redesigned welcome that shows you how each feature works as you get started.
- Refined design and smoother interactions throughout.
