Terms & Privacy Policy

"Zen - Habit Tracker" is a personal, on-device habit tracker made by Donado Labs. This page covers both how the app treats your data (Privacy) and the terms under which it is provided (Terms).
Privacy
Your data stays on your device. Habits, activity, reminders, and your profile are stored locally in the app's own database. There are no accounts and no sign-in.
- On-device first. Your habit data never leaves your device or your personal iCloud. There is no backend that receives or stores it.
- iCloud sync. If you have iCloud Drive enabled, your data syncs privately across your own Apple devices through your personal iCloud account. Donado Labs cannot read this data; it is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy terms.
- No tracking. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- No email, no accounts. We never ask for an email address, password, or any sign-in.
- Notifications. Habit reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. They are never sent through an external service.
Challenges (optional)
Challenges are an opt-in feature that lets you keep a habit going alongside other people. If you never create or join a challenge, nothing about Challenges ever leaves your device. When you do:
- No account, no email, no password. You are identified only by a random ID generated on your device. Your display name is whatever you choose to show (you can use anything).
- It syncs privately through your iCloud. Challenges use Apple's CloudKit sharing, the same private iCloud mechanism the rest of your data already uses. The challenge, the participants' chosen display names, and "joined / completed" updates live in the participants' own iCloud (private and shared databases). We run no server and cannot read any of it. It does not include your other habits, your contacts, your location, or any device identifiers, and there is no analytics. Nothing is ever sold or used for advertising or tracking.
- Requires iCloud. Because there is no server, creating or joining a challenge needs an iCloud account signed in on your device.
Because everything lives on your device (and your iCloud), deleting the app removes the local copy of your data. Data synced through iCloud follows your iCloud settings.
Terms of Use
- Zen - Habit Tracker is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
- The app is intended for personal habit tracking. You are responsible for the habits and data you create.
- Donado Labs is not liable for any loss of data, including data that fails to sync due to iCloud being unavailable or disabled.
- These terms may be updated; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
